Job Full Description Scene Builder/Machinist Burbank, CA Full time - Temp to hire Monday thru Friday - 7am to 3:30pm + Overtime $20hr to $30hr depending on experience.
One of the foremost leaders in set, scenery, and themed construction in Southern California, offering a wide range of services for all phases of projects, including art direction, project management, design development, CAD design, mockups, engineering, architectural finishing, mixed material fabrication and installation, CNC waterjet and routing, custom scenic finishes, and much more is seeking a Scene Builder/Machinist to join their team in Burbank.
Summary : This dynamic position covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities. The ideal candidate must be a motivated team player excited to contribute to the success of our diverse projects. Contributions will include administrative work, operating heavy machinery, and general management. This position inherently offers a great opportunity to educate and develop new skills under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:
- CNC and waterjet operating and routine maintenance.
- Inventory and management of materials and tooling.
- Organizing project parts and build items.
- General shop management and maintenance.
- Office support.
- Driver/Runner support.
- Must have interest in fabrication and construction.
- Must be a problem solver with the ability to think critically.
- Must have attention to detail as they are responsible for valuable materials and resources.
- Must work with safety and caution.
- Must be knowledgeable of 2D and 3D design.
- Must be comfortable with hand tools: saws, grinders, sanders, drills, etc.
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
- Must be able to learn materials and their properties.
- Must be able to perform physical activity for 8 hours.
- Must be able to solely handle 4x8 sheet materials.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must take direction and constructive criticism from managerial staff.
- Must be punctual with attendance.
- Must have a car and clean driving record.
