MRI Technologist

Job Summary:


The Radiology/Cardiology MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI procedures with expertise and precision, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes. This role requires collaboration with medical staff to provide safe and effective patient care. The technologist must hold an active NY license, ARRT certification, and BLS certification, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience. The position involves overnight shifts and requires strong technical skills and patient communication.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI scans and related imaging procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare patients for MRI exams, including explaining procedures and ensuring patient safety.
• Operate MRI equipment and maintain imaging quality standards.
• Collaborate with radiologists and cardiologists to obtain required images for diagnosis.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of imaging procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Manage scheduling and patient flow for approximately 20 visits per day in a single-room setting.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active New York State MRI Technologist license.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiology.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an MRI technologist.
• Strong knowledge of MRI equipment operation and safety standards.
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in both radiology and cardiology imaging settings.
• Familiarity with advanced MRI techniques and protocols.
• Previous experience in overnight or shift work environments.

Special Considerations:

• Overnight shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday.
• Position is open to first-time travelers; however, candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
• Work performed in a single-room unit with approximately 20 patient visits per day.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday overnight shifts, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
