Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care for patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. Supervises nursing staff and collaborates with healthcare team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients upon admission and continuously monitor their condition throughout labor and delivery.
  
  
• 
  Develop and implement individualized care plans in alignment with established standards and protocols.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians and according to clinical guidelines.
  
  
• 
  Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff, ensuring efficient and safe care delivery.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about the labor process, postpartum care, and newborn care.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  
  
• 
  Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications preferred.
  
  
• 
  Have at least two years of recent experience in labor and delivery or maternity nursing.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation programs.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  
  
• 
  Maintain flexibility to work night shifts as required.
