Job Specifics Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts with weekend and holiday rotations Shift details: Variable throughout the workday Decentralized shifts across inpatient units including Peds, NICU, ICU, OR, & ED Location: Inpatient Pharmacy, St. Vincent Regional Hospital, Billings, Montana Benefits Eligible: Yes - link to benefit details Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Hourly Range: $62.89 - $92.44 Essential Functions Review patients’ medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug‑drug interaction; make appropriate evidence‑based interventions to optimize medication use and ensure safe, appropriate, cost‑effective therapies while accurately dispensing medications. Oversee and/or participate in assuring appropriate medications are prepared and delivered timely to care areas and are stored securely and appropriately for stability and workflow. Provide counseling to patients and promote quality medication education and adherence; ensure patients are well informed, treated with respect, and receive the highest level of professional service. Complete all regulatory and compliance training and ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements; remain knowledgeable and compliant with state and federal laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures. Supervise and direct activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required; provide medication‑related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals. Take initiative to solve problems including equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing issues, and extraordinary patient care concerns. Identify potential areas for improvement, including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction, and identify potential safety hazards that could create problems for patients and/or staff; take appropriate actions and participate in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback. Support clinic or hospital and system directives, including clinical, compliance, business operations, standardization, and customer service. Support local and enterprise pharmacy leadership initiatives. Skills Pharmacy Pharmacy Services Medication Management Pharmaceutical Care Project Management Quality Improvement Problem Solving Federal Pharmacy Laws State Pharmacy Laws Minimum Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution (education verified). License to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances. Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy in the state of practice. Effective communication, people management, and project management skills. Immunization certification if applicable to practice site needs. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in an integrated healthcare delivery system. Board Certification. Health System Residency. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require verbal communication as well as hearing and understanding spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy; frequent computer use for typing and accessing needed information.
