About the Department The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) provides care to the patients of Santa Clara County primarily at the SCVMC ACS certified Level-1 trauma center and O'Connor Hospital (OCH).  The SCVMC Orthopaedic Department also facilitates the coordination of orthopaedic safety net care within the greater Santa Clara Valley Healthcare system, which includes SCVMC, OCH, St. Louise Regional Hospital, and Regional Medical Center. Successful candidates will join a team of fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma, joint reconstruction and sports surgeons in the clinical care of patients, education and training of Stanford University Medical Students and Orthopaedic Residents, and participate in hospital and system-wide quality improvement projects. SCVMC Orthopaedists serve as affiliated faculty of the Stanford Department of Orthopaedic Surgery with ability to collaborate on research and clinical care initiatives. About the Position Candidates must have or be eligible for a California Medical License, have or be eligible for a California Fluoroscopy license, have an MD/DO degree, be ABOS board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. Fellowship training in Adult Total Joint Reconstruction is required. Additional fellowship training in Ortho Oncology is a plus. Comfort with total joint reconstruction and taking level-2 trauma call is preferred. Preferred candidates will be proficient in the management of hip and knee arthritis and comfortable with revision hip and knee arthroplasty.  Ideal candidates will also possess ability to take Level 2 Orthopaedic Trauma call.  This position is ideal for highly motivated surgeons with a desire to care for a diverse patient population in a growing orthopaedic department at the second largest county health care system in California. This is also an excellent opportunity to serve as a clinical educator for Stanford Orthopaedic Residents and Medical Students.
