Prineville, United States | Posted on 09/18/2026 Job Description Position Summary The Facilities Manager supports Samson Sky operations by promoting a respectful and collaborative workplace; ensuring safe, clean, orderly, and operational facilities; planning and coordinating preventive maintenance, repairs, vendors, equipment support, inventory, and facility improvement projects; and providing hands‑on assistance when needed. The position requires a can‑do mindset, adaptability, leadership by example, accurate documentation, practical problem solving, and consistent attention to safety, reliability, cleanliness, and work quality. Key Responsibilities Participate in and reinforce a culture of respect for others, promote a collaborative environment, and lead by example. Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, orderly, and operational condition in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards. Embrace changing priorities and approach facility needs with a can‑do, solutions‑focused mindset. Plan, prioritize, and coordinate facility inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, corrective work, and improvement projects based on safety, operational needs, and the project plan. Monitor facility conditions and ensure identified safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and operational deficiencies are addressed and communicated to affected personnel. Manage facility maintenance plans, schedules, work orders, service histories, inspection records, equipment logs, and other required documentation. Coordinate qualified vendors and service providers for inspections, repairs, installations, and infrastructure work; provide facility access and on‑site support as needed. Manage maintenance tools, spare parts, consumables, and inventory; identify replenishment needs and coordinate procurement or vendor support. Coordinate the setup, maintenance, and safe availability of shop‑support equipment, facility utilities, workspaces, and equipment staging needed for prototype builds and R&D testing. Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and repair support for mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, lighting, and basic electrical systems within the manager’s training and authorization. Direct or coordinate facilities personnel, shop personnel, vendors, and contractors assigned to facility tasks and projects, while promoting timely completion, accurate documentation, and accountability. Valuable Final Product Clean, orderly, safe, and operational facilities maintained with maximum clean/up time and minimum dirty/down time, supported by completed facility tasks and accurate records. Position Statistics Percentage of facility “clean/up time” compared with “dirty/down time.” Percentage of facilities tasks and improvement projects completed on time measured against the project plan. Physical and Work Environment Requirements This is a hands‑on management position in an R&D, fabrication, vehicle build, and facility maintenance environment. The employee must be able to perform physical work, lift reasonable weight, climb ladders, work at heights when required, safely use appropriate personal protective equipment and tools, and communicate on a technical and operational level. Duties and priorities may change as facility, prototype, and operational needs evolve. Required Qualifications Progressive experience managing people, teams, and projects in a technical, facilities, industrial, building operations, or related environment. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and document preventive maintenance, repairs, vendors, and facility improvement work. Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and general building systems. Ability to evaluate facility needs, coordinate qualified service providers, and follow work through to completion. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment documentation, blueprints, specifications, and schematics. Strong organization, communication, vendor coordination, recordkeeping, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently, coordinate the work of others, and manage changing priorities in a dynamic R&D environment. Ability to perform physical work, lift reasonable weight, climb ladders, and work comfortably at heights when required. Computer literacy, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing multi-disciplinary and cross‑functional projects and/or teams. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Gantt charts, and/or Kanban boards. Technical mindset with the ability to understand, organize and support requirements compliance. Experience managing or coordinating facilities in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, fabrication, or R&D environments. Electrical or HVAC knowledge.
