Registered Nurse - PACU

Role Overview: This position involves assessing, planning, delegating, and evaluating nursing care for a diverse patient group, serving as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit needs and safety considerations. Key Responsibilities: Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management, safely administer medications following policies, manage resources efficiently, and ensure compliance with practice standards and regulations. Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, contribute to improvement initiatives, support peer review, and foster a professional development environment for colleagues and students. Integrate current research into practice, perform duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator roles when assigned, and maintain mandatory education requirements. Qualifications & Skills: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current New York State RN license. Preferred qualifications include a BSN, clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care, CCRN, and relevant certifications like ACLS, PALS, or TNCC. Skills in pharmacology, communication, teamwork, and adaptability are essential. Work Environment & Patient Care: Work occurs in clinical and office settings, requiring movement, standing, and lifting in a fast-paced environment with exposure to cleaning agents and PPE adherence.
