Manager Software Engineering

Piper Companies is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join a very profitable insurance organization. This is a full-time position offering hybrid flexibility out of Frederick, MD. Essential Duties Lead the development and implementation of digital platforms using microservices, cloud technologies, AI/ML, and DevOps principles. Lead and guide the scrum team to ensure the delivery of solutions. Build, mentor, and retain a team of high-performing Software Engineers and QA Analysts. Promote innovation and transformation by seeking out opportunities to improve processes and platforms. Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience developing web applications 2+ years of experience in people management/leadership positions (teams of 3+) Experience in Agile environments. Experience with Java or .NET on the backend Experience in insurance or FinTech preferred, but not required.
