Process Development - Pre-Pivotal Biologics Attribute Sciences Associate

Associate role supporting analytical development and product characterization for novel biotherapeutics in pre-pivotal stages. Responsibilities include performing laboratory studies, developing analytical methods, interpreting experimental data, and collaborating across research and manufacturing teams at Amgen's Thousand Oaks facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing and characterization studies to evaluate biotherapeutic quality attributes and stability
• Co-verify and qualify analytical methods for GMP lab execution and support method validation activities
• Support testing of drug substance, drug product, and development materials for formulation and process studies
• Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data with increasing independence in scientific problem-solving
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in research, manufacturing, and external organizations to advance programs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree with 2+ years scientific experience, or high school diploma with 4+ years scientific experience
• Scientific or bioengineering background with protein, biologics, or hybrid therapeutic development experience
• Degree in biochemistry, biophysics, analytical chemistry, protein chemistry, bioengineering, or related fields preferred
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
• Experience or aptitude with digital tools for data analysis and automation
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-motivated and collaborative mindset with attention to detail and compliance
