Highest Resolution Electrical Measurements PrimeNano is an early‑stage, privately held analytical instrument company. We have commercialized a patented microwave impedance imaging technology developed at Stanford University. PrimeNano’s ScanWave product enables imaging of electrical properties of materials at sub‑micron dimensions using atomic force microscopes (AFMs). Assisting in development of testing and assembly procedures. Maintaining BOMs and other product documentation. Finding and managing key vendors. Key responsibilities Plan, assemble, troubleshoot/repair/modify prototype devices and fixtures with minimal supervision. Assemble electronic prototypes, PCBA, wiring, and cable assemblies. Assemble electromechanical prototypes and test fixtures, including PCBAs, power supplies, switches, indicators, displays into enclosures. Debug and troubleshoot analog, digital, and computer‑based circuits and systems. Rework PCBAs, wiring, and breadboards. Create schematics, drawings, parts lists of prototypes and fixtures. Conduct and document electronic and electromechanical tests. Integrate computer components, install software and debug computer systems. THE CANDIDATE Required skills and attributes Well organized, self‑starting and comfortable working in a small organization. Exceptional soldering skills and high quality workmanship—must rework fine‑pitch surface mount components. Ability to write, revise and maintain detailed procedures. Able to read and understand schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings. Basic computer skills. Desired skills Experience with GHz circuits, assembly practices and test equipment. Basic CAD (e.g. Solidworks) and/or basic PCB layout and fabrication. Knowledge of electronic circuits and theory: op‑amps, power supplies, digital logic, microprocessors, PC systems, component selection. Familiarity with the creation and interpretation of electronic schematics, bills of material, test procedures, PCB design documentation, etc. Ability to handle multiple projects / meet deadlines. Ability to troubleshoot equipment. Proficiency with advanced test equipment and instrumentation (network analyzer, digital oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.). THE CANDIDATE Required Skills and Attributes Skilled at atomic force microscopy, including selection of imaging modes and cantilevers/probes. Experience with electric measurement modes for AFM (SCM, cAFM, ORCA, SSRM, etc.) is desired. Research experience in a materials‑related field (physics, materials science, chemical engineering, electrical engineering). Experience supporting or maintaining customer relationships. Strong, hands‑on experimentalist with good technical skills. Well organized, self‑starting and comfortable working in a small organization. Ability to handle multiple projects / meet deadlines. Desired Skills Basic understanding of semiconductor materials and semiconductor industry failure analysis. Experience with microwave frequency instrumentation and measurement. Experience with low temperature (liquid He) or UHV apparatus is a plus. Advance degree: a PhD is desired; a master’s with appropriate experience will be considered. Office Manager / Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant Core Responsibilities Bookkeeping using QuickBooks: maintain financials (A/R, A/P, reconciliations), create invoices, pay suppliers and expense reports, issue financial statements. Office organization: monitor and purchase supplies, tag and monitor fixed assets, maintain office, interact with contractors and HR services. Administrative support to CEO: organize meetings, travel arrangements, and book flights. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration (or equivalent experience). Working knowledge of QuickBooks and generally accepted accounting principles. Proficiency in English and MS Office. Minimum work hours: 25–30 hours per week. Director / VP Sales North America and Europe THE ROLE Develop, expand and maintain industrial and scientific direct customer base in the region. Manage and support sales reps and distributors, driving sales through partners. Build, expand and manage the company’s sales pipeline. Meet or exceed sales targets. Accurately forecast prospects through the sales cycle. Interpret customer needs & identify tactical actions for the company to close the sales. Understand customer decision‑making process and key influencers. Coordinate with marketing and applications staff for demos, sample imaging requests, technical workshops, and other sales‑marketing activities. Travel domestically and internationally. Build and manage a sales team. THE CANDIDATE At least 8 years of sales experience and meet the following: 5+ years managing a significant region, preferably in the scientific instrument/AFM business. Experience in North America and Europe. Strong project management skills, ability to navigate a complex sales process. Highly motivated, achievement‑oriented and excited to join a growing team. Industrial Engineering Scientist / Research Engineer THE ROLE Develop hardware and software to improve capabilities of the new technology, focusing on low‑temperature systems using a scanning probe platform. Work with users to demonstrate utility across applications. Position requires routine work in at least two of the following areas; expertise in one and proficiency in others is preferred: Scanning probe experiments using advanced techniques such as cAFM, KPFM, EFM, SSRM or SCM; understanding of lock‑in amplifier‑based AFM techniques. Design and operation of low‑temperature experimental apparatus; familiarity with cryogenic systems and magnets. Microwave/RF circuit analysis and design (matching and resonant circuits) for 1–10 GHz; board layout and HFSS simulations are not required, but understanding of SNR and sensitivity is critical. THE CANDIDATE PhD in low‑temperature physics. Excellent English communication skills, written and oral. Ability to work independently at customer sites. Well organized, self‑starting and comfortable in a small organization. Proficiency with imageJ, Matlab, C, igor, LabView, etc. Proficiency with FEA software such as COMSOL.
