Quality Inspector
The Quality Inspector performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on a wide range of mechanical and electrical parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies at receiving, in-process, and final inspection stages. This role ensures that all products meet customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements by applying established inspection guidelines, using precision measurement tools, and maintaining accurate quality records. The position contributes directly to continuous improvement efforts and supports strong collaboration with internal departments, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on mechanical and electrical parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies during receiving, in-process, and final inspection stages.
- Identify, document, and secure nonconforming parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies, and submit them to the Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition.
- Generate, track, and follow up on internal and supplier corrective action requests to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain organized filing and record keeping of quality records, inspection reports, and related documentation.
- Focus on continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance inspection processes, product quality, and overall efficiency, while demonstrating sound business judgment.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments, customers, and regulatory agencies to support and exceed internal and external expectations for customer satisfaction.
- Provide clear and timely inspection feedback to suppliers and internal departments to drive quality improvements and prevent defects.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable statutory and regulatory agency requirements, including FAA, EASA, ITAR, and other relevant regulations.
- Generate inspection data sheets and documentation to accurately record and report inspection results.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and generate or review FAI documentation in accordance with SAE AS9102 requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and support implementation of corrective actions to address quality issues and improve processes.
- Use quality tools and precision measurement equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines, to verify product conformance.
- Interpret and apply information from blueprints, schematics, and quality standards during inspections.
- Record inspection results and quality checks in the ERP system and ensure data accuracy and traceability.
- Support quality assurance, quality control, and inspection activities related to aerospace, automotive, and medical industry products as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), including PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Process Capability, and Process Flow.
- Previous experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems in a manufacturing or quality environment.
- Experience performing First Article Inspections in accordance with SAE AS9102.
- Background in aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries.
- Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies commonly used in regulated industries.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming is beneficial.
- Exposure to inspection of circuit cards and circuit boards.
- An A&P license is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in a smaller quality group and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

The role involves frequent use of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines, as well as regular interaction with SAP ERP systems for recording inspection data. You will inspect mechanical and electrical parts, including circuit cards and circuit boards, in a setting that supports aerospace, automotive, and medical industry products. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to documented procedures and quality standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
