BBC Housekeeping staff will provide housekeeping and janitorial services throughout the entire Brandeis-Bardin Campus of the American Jewish University. Core duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms and guest rooms, along with restocking supplies, changing linens, and disposing of trash. Housekeepers are also responsible for following health and safety protocols, keeping cleaning equipment, and reporting maintenance issues to management. 

Position Overview

The Housekeeping position is responsible for ensuring property is maintained for residents, visitors and staff. This role partners closely with hospitality team to ensure spaces are ready for camps and events.

Primary Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, windows, and fixtures in all assigned areas. 
• Waste Management: Empty and clean all trash cans, ensuring proper disposal of waste and recycling materials. 
• Bedding and Linens: Change bed linens, fold laundry, and restock towels and toiletries. 
• Bathroom Care: Clean and disinfect spaces, including countertops, sinks, and appliances, and maintain the cleanliness of bathrooms. 
• Supplies Management: Restock cleaning products, toilet paper, tissues, and other necessary supplies. 
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
• Reporting Issues: Alert management of any damages, safety hazards, or needed repairs.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial experience preferred.
• Detail orientated in cleaning and maintaining standards.
• Understanding of how to use various cleaning agents and supplies safely.
• The ability to complete tasks with a sense of urgency and thoroughly.
• Must have a positive and professional attitude. 
• Must be able to maintain predicable and reliable attendance.
• Following health and safety regulations to maintain a secure environment.
• Valid driver's license required (operation of company vehicle to transport between areas of the campus is required for this position).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work evenings and on weekends, including holidays.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• The role requires the ability to remain standing for extended periods of time and to perform repetitive tasks such as mopping.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry objects (25 lbs.), such as laundry and supplies, climb stairs and kneel for long periods of time.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Occasional movement throughout campus and to off-site locations may be required.

Compensation

• Full time and part time positions available. This is anon-exempt position with starting pay of $20.00 per hour.
