About the Role

The Duty Manager is an integral role within the business that will support the daily activities of the operation, enabling the business to meet its organisational and operational objectives. This role will communicate effectively and efficiently across all departments and will ensure the day-to-day operational activities flow smoothly.     

This is a Full-Time Permanent Position.

As the Duty Manager you will be required to:

• Provide high-quality guest service and willing to go beyond for our guests
• Responsible for task allocation to Guest Service & Housekeeping staff
• Handling customer queries, complaints and recovery
• Follow up on and action any required items from the previous day’s Duty Manager handover summary
• Provide a detailed summary outlining any notable incidents or events to Management Team and fellow Duty Managers at end of each shift, allowing for a seamless transition for the next Duty Manager
• Ensure any incidents, near misses and customer complaints are reported and logged into the incident reporting system within the prescribed timeframes
• Provide assistance and support to the operational teams across the business as needed
• Facilitate effective communication between departments, ensuring relevant information is disseminated appropriately
• Liase with external stakeholders and relevant authorities as required

To be successful in this position you will need to:

• Have demonstrated experience and knowledge of hotel or, experience in a similar role
• Be able to communicate effectively with our guests and team members
• Have experience in IT systems such as Microsoft Office suite, NewBook or similar.
• Possess strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently
• Have excellent customer service and problem resolution skills
• Ability to work under pressure, adhere to tight time restraints, improvise, and set priorities
• Be reliable, flexible and have an honest approach to work
