Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma experience required

Description: Will consider longer contracts, ranging from 13 to 26 weeks. 3 shifts per week for days. Will cross-train and float to other campuses and emergency department observation. RN ratios: Average 1:6 during the day shift and average 1:6 during the night shift. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. On-call requirement is not applicable. Clinicians may float within their scope to meet facility needs. Willing to accommodate block schedules. Weekend call-out policy requires rescheduling missed weekend shifts. The missed shift will be made up during a weekend within six weeks, sooner if the contract ends before that. Travelers contacting management immediately after a missed shift can request specific days for make-up shifts. Makeup shifts are scheduled based on department staffing needs. The makeup shift will replace a scheduled weekday shift to avoid overtime unless approved otherwise. Makeup shifts will be labeled accordingly for tracking. Calling out from a makeup shift will lead to immediate rescheduling with a coaching final warning for time and attendance. The facility is a short-term acute care hospital with level 1 trauma capabilities. It has a total of 1,567 staffed beds. Charting is done through an electronic system. Daily census averages are around 120. The number of visits per day is approximately 300. The patient age group includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Staffed units have interdisciplinary support for various services. Special procedures and equipment are provided to assist nursing staff. Additional skills required include managing acute psychosis, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and trauma assessment. Experience with diverse patient diagnoses in clinical settings is preferred. Crisis management and support for psychiatric holds are essential. Candidates must have the ability to perform emergency procedures competently.
