This role is with a healthcare system's cardiopulmonary team in Great Falls, MT, providing comprehensive respiratory care services under the general supervision of the Respiratory Care Manager. The Registered Respiratory Therapist will evaluate, treat, and care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, covering diagnostic testing, therapeutic administration, continuous monitoring, critical care support, and patient and family education.

Schedule: Full time, on-site.

Compensation: $65,000 to $82,000 per year, plus applicable shift and weekend differentials.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will deliver direct cardiopulmonary care, including aerosol therapies, chest physiotherapy, mechanical ventilation setup and management, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and diagnostic testing. You will conduct patient clinical evaluations, monitor treatment responses, adjust protocols in collaboration with attending physicians, and document clinical outcomes accurately. You will respond to emergency situations such as code blue, rapid response, and trauma cases, providing critical respiratory support across all age groups and clinical units. You will educate patients and family members on disease management, home therapy equipment, and preventative cardiopulmonary health, and you will adhere to departmental continuous quality improvement initiatives, hospital safety guidelines, and federal and state regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Active, unrestricted Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners, or immediate eligibility to obtain
• Active national credentialing as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
• Thorough understanding of respiratory care processes, protocols, and standard and specialized cardiopulmonary equipment
• Knowledge of safety, infection control, and continuous quality improvement standards
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and team based clinical collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience responding to code blue, rapid response, or trauma situations in an acute care setting
