Medical Device Assembler – Pacemakers & Cardiac Devices

Starting Pay: $21.50/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Shift: 1st Shift
Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Assembler to support the production of high-quality medical devices used in cardiovascular care. This position involves performing assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac leads, and related medical device components.

Working under close supervision, the successful candidate will follow standardized work instructions, maintain accurate production and quality documentation, and help ensure products meet established quality requirements. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on assembly work, can handle small components carefully, and takes pride in accuracy and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, ICDs, cardiac leads, and related medical device assemblies.
• Follow written work instructions, standardized procedures, and verbal directions to complete routine manufacturing assignments.
• Handle and maneuver small components and parts with care and precision.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date production documentation, including travelers and quality records.
• Ensure components and finished products remain traceable throughout the manufacturing process.
• Identify and communicate production issues, quality concerns, and potential solutions to manufacturing supervisors and management.
• Follow all safety guidelines and use required safety equipment and protective devices.
• Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to improve production processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.
• Apply a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles to support team and production goals.
• Work with manufacturing leadership to establish and monitor individual performance goals and cell production metrics.
• Support company initiatives and comply with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with coworkers, internal departments, and external visitors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed written procedures and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Ability to handle small components and perform precise, repetitive tasks.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic data collection systems and manufacturing software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks based on timing, sequence, and production requirements.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to recognize problems, communicate concerns, and use sound judgment when addressing routine work situations.
• Willingness to learn standardized manufacturing processes and follow supervisory direction.
• Commitment to workplace safety, accurate documentation, and product quality.

Work Environment

• Medical device manufacturing and production cell environment.
• Hands-on assembly, repair, and testing of small medical device components.
• Requires careful handling of parts and consistent attention to detail.
• Work is performed under close supervision, with assignments and results regularly reviewed.
• Employees must follow established safety procedures, quality requirements, and manufacturing documentation standards.
