Human Resources Business Advisor (HR Officer)

The Human Resources (HR) Department is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Advisor to join the Strategic HR Business Advisors team. This position plays a key role within a collaborative group of strategic business partners and employee relations specialists, supporting twenty-six small to mid-sized Shared Services Departments. The HR Business Advisor will provide expert consultation across all levels of the organization, from executive leadership to front staff and labor groups. The responsibilities include conducting workplace investigations, participating in disciplinary and grievance hearings, and supporting employee development and engagement initiatives. The incumbent will also contribute to HR strategy and policy development, labor relations, FMLA/ADA and leave administration, training facilitations and presentations, workforce planning, recruitment support, and compensation analysis as needed. Assignments are made based upon organizational need. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional integrity, an innovative and collaborative approach to problem-solving, and a positive and solutions-oriented mindset. Success in this role requires the ability to both work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. Depending on the assignment, operational needs, and completion of an initial training period, this position may be eligible for a hybrid in-office/telework schedule at the discretion of the Human Resources Director. Telework is subject to department approval and could change in the future. IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Ability to interpret and apply written policies, procedures, and regulations.
- This position requires a keen attention to detail in the performance of all tasks.
- Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
- Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
- Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.
- Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.
- Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.
- When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit.

- Three years of professional human resources management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, public or business administration, or a related field.
- Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

- Demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution and performance management.
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting diverse workforce groups such as field, clerical, professional, technical, supervisory and executive levels.
- Proven experience as a Human Resources Generalist.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting workplace investigations involving a variety of employee classifications and labor representatives.
- Demonstrated expertise in labor-management relations and/or working directly with unions.
- Professional Human Resources certifications are desirable.
