Assistant Director, Psaros Center for Financial Markets & Policy | McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University

The Assistant Director provides administrative and program support to the Founding Director, Executive Director, Associate Director, and Associate Director of Student Engagement of the Georgetown Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy. The position supports the Center’s day-to-day operations and is responsible for program and event planning, marketing and communications, website and social media management, financial administration, travel and logistics, scheduling, and coordination of student assistants and volunteers.

The Assistant Director also supports teaching and research activities for finance faculty as needed. The role coordinates with departments across the McDonough School of Business and works independently to manage multiple administrative and programmatic priorities, including in-person and virtual events, seminars, speaker series, conferences, and related communications and materials.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

• Plan and coordinate in-person and virtual events, seminars, speaker series, and conferences from planning through post-event activities.

• Manage the Center’s website, social media, databases, event recordings, and related marketing and communications.

• Coordinate travel, reimbursements, scheduling, supplies, correspondence, files, and other day-to-day administrative operations.

• Coordinate and manage student assistants and volunteers supporting Center activities and research/white paper projects.

• Provide administrative support to Center leadership and assist finance faculty with teaching, research, and other academic activities as needed.

Work Interactions

The Assistant Director reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Founding Director, Associate Director, Associate Director of Student Engagement, Office of the Dean, Office of Marketing and Communications, academic directors, faculty, and other McDonough School of Business departments. The position also interacts regularly with University staff in Accounts Payable, Payroll, Advancement, and UIS, as well as outside speakers, sponsors, advisors, vendors, and other Center stakeholders.

This role directly contributes to the University’s mission by supporting the Center’s programs, events, faculty activities, and external engagement while ensuring effective day-to-day administration and communication of the Center’s activities and initiatives.

Requirements and Qualificati ons

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, finance, public policy, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in higher education.

• Ability to work independently and demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to managing responsibilities and solving problems.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, events, deadlines, and administrative activities.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with website maintenance and database management is helpful.
