About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-surg Adult Duration: Full time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year of acute care experience preferred License: Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have: - High school diploma or equivalent required - Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years - High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and every year Description: This position functions within the Outpatient Department to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting. It is responsible for the overall operation of the Clinic. Maintains skill sets, annual competencies, certifications, and participates in in-services and educational programs as assigned. Completes all mandatory training and attends staff meetings. Adheres to infection control policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and safe working environment including adequate supplies and upkeep of the unit and equipment. Reports any defective or missing equipment and safety hazards. Refers unresolved problems with patients, coworkers, or visitors to the department manager for resolution. Addresses employee concerns consistent with Human Resources Policy. Provide clinical services, including working with providers and clinic staff. Ensures excellent quality of care and services and compliance with standards. Provides leadership and direction to the clinic staff ensuring efficient operation of the clinic. Maintains medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system. Ensures that the necessary quality control checks are done with the Point of Care tests. Documents all care and services provided in a clear and timely manner. Oversees the opening and closing of their provider clinics. Assists providers and other staff as needed, anticipating their needs for efficient patient care. Communicates effectively with other departments to be a resource for patients and staff. Knowledge of the Nursing process and the ability to apply it in the working environment. Demonstrates customer service principles, safety and infection control principles. Utilizes equipment such as computers and medical devices. Exhibits effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Shows willingness to teach when appropriate. Applies critical thinking skills to develop and maintain good working relations with staff and departments. Willingness to ask for help when encountering new or challenging situations. While performing duties, regular talking or hearing is required. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with arms. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
