MiSpace, Inc. is urgently seeking a Full Time Lead Direct Support Professionals for a male in Westerville, Ohio.

HOURS:

Tues-Sat:7am-2:30pm

with some occasional additional hours for appointments or recreation

LEAD DSP RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist clients with daily living activities which may include hygiene, light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping
• Assist clients with attending medical and personal appointments
• Assist clients with taking medication as determined by their assessment
• Assist with attending community activities and social events
• Maintain a healthy and comfortable living environment
• Follow client Ohio Individual Service Plan and complete documentation required by FCBDD and DODD.
• Report information to team members and medical professionals in a professional manner
• Ensure health and safety needs are met
• Participate in the weekly on-call rotation
• Participate in OHIO ISP meetings and other team meetings.
• Demonstrate correct procedures in personal and agency goals through the individual ISP, BSP, and other goals such as outcomes, diet, etc.
• Ensure follow up on all quality assurance and medical reviews as required.
• Prepare documentation for services for each assigned individual, monitor and document accuracy.
• Facilitate appropriate meal planning related to specific individual needs.
• Assist with scheduling and attendance of appointments including follow up and supporting documentation.
• Assist with the oversight of initial and ongoing training of new staff in Individuals’ homes and ensure that staff complete required training and documentation within the time frame specified by Administration.
• Give staff positive and constructive feedback on job performance in a prompt, tactful, direct and consistent way and report issues to SLC.
• Ensure individuals' clothing and belongings are clean, up to date, and in good condition and that personal property is cared for and maintained.
• Ensure individuals home is free of damage or health and safety concerns by doing monthly checks.
• Oversee purchases of individual personal and household supplies to ensure appropriate level of supplies are maintained.
• Ensure household meets all private regulatory requirements (i.e. Creative Housing, landlord, leasing)
• Oversee the preparation and implementation of emergency evacuation and safety procedures.
• Plan and manage the household budget.
• Establish and manage schedules for activities inside and outside of the home.
• Participate in monthly Lead meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the DD industry or related field
• A minimum of 1-year supervisory experience in the DD industry or related field.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug testing
• Must have own, reliable transportation, good driving record (no more than 5 points), valid driver's license and insurance.
• Medication Administration Training, CPR & First Aid.
• Initial and annual completion of DODD provider training.
• Must be able to work effectively for and with individuals who have Developmental Disabilities
• Ability to work with a team of coworkers, supervisors, professionals
• Clear boundaries and sound judgement.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
