Office Engineer / Field EngineerOwn Your Future at Psomas Join a 100% employee-owned firm built for long-term thinking, shared success, and meaningful impact.As our Office Engineer / Field Engineer for our Construction Management team in the Bay Area, you'll support heavy civil and public works projects, including wastewater treatment plants, recycled water facilities, pipelines, and pump stations in the East Bay Area (Alameda and Contra Costa Counties).Why PsomasShared Success: An ownership culture that rewards long-term thinking and doing what's right.Retirement Benefits: Company-funded ESOP + 401(k) with immediate match.Career Growth: Clear pathways, coaching, and leadership development.People-First Culture: Collaborative teams that invest in your development.Meaningful Work: Infrastructure projects that directly support public health and sustainability.What You'll DoAs our Office Engineer / Field Engineer, you will support construction administration, field observation, and project documentation for active wastewater infrastructure projects.Field Support & Construction Observation- Observe construction activities and support field operations on active heavy civil projects.Project Documentation & Administration- Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, change orders, progress payments, and other project communications.Technical Support & Interpretation- Assist with interpretation of plans and specifications to support field and office construction decisions.Project Records & Compliance- Maintain project files, as-built documentation, schedules, and support prevailing wage and labor compliance tracking.Coordination & Communication- Facilitate communication between clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure project alignment and progress.Required QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplineValid CA driver license and reliable transportation to access project site(s) in addition to standard daily commuteAbility to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specificationsStrong understanding of the construction process and field operations computer literacyAbility to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work on active construction sites, including uneven terrain, ladders, confined spaces, and varying weather conditionsEngineer in Training (EIT) certification, preferredPrior experience in civil infrastructure or public works construction, a plus Compensation & BenefitsCompensation: $40.00 - $51.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)Incentives: Discretionary bonus and recognition programsTime Off: 3 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidaysTotal Rewards: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family, along with employee ownership and retirement benefitsOur Hiring ApproachOur recruiting team reviews every application personally and will keep candidates informed throughout the process.
