(SEA) Lifeguard I

Responsible for the overall safety of patrons, general maintenance, and cleaning of facility. Essential Job Functions Implements appropriate rescue, first aid and emergency procedures. Cleans pool, bathhouse, and related areas daily. Collects entry fees. Enforces all rules and regulations as they relate to pool safety. Other Job Duties (Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.) Attends weekly training sessions. Performs any other duties as assigned which relate to the operation of a public swimming pool. Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.) Knowledge of-- Proper lifeguarding procedures. Ability to-- Deal effectively with the public. Follow instructions; perform general cleaning. Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.) Training and/or Education None Experience None Licenses or Certificates: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid & CPR/AED Certificate. Special Requirements Must be 18 years of age or have work permit. Subject to background investigation. Physical Demands Work requires medium to heavy physical effort. Unusual Demands Flexible schedule to include: early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
