About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Facilities to lead and steward its physical infrastructure and sustainability initiatives. This executive role is pivotal in creating and maintaining optimal environments for marine life, staff wellbeing, and guest experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and strategic upgrading of all facility systems, ensuring their seamless functioning to support the institution's conservation mission. This includes overseeing critical systems such as life support, electrical infrastructure, HVAC, water quality, and building integrity, as well as leading major capital projects and campus planning with a strong focus on sustainability. Collaboration with other VPs is essential to integrate infrastructure, sustainability, and visitor experience initiatives. The role also involves maintaining regulatory compliance, particularly in the areas of water quality, ADA requirements, and OSHA standards, and fostering a culture of safety excellence. The ideal candidate will be a champion of sustainability and environmental leadership, actively supporting the institution's sustainability plan and working towards net-zero emissions and waste. Additionally, the VP of Facilities will be a leader in promoting equity, belonging, and diversity, and will play a key role in creating a workplace culture that attracts and develops exceptional talent.
