Your Opportunity with ECG: Internship

Our healthcare consulting internship provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity to students during the summer prior to the final year of their advanced-degree studies. Interns work alongside our talented team of consultants, gaining valuable industry exposure and taking on project work consistent with that of full-time consultants. The program will last for 10 to 12 weeks during the summer of 2027.

 

As an intern, you’ll work in the Healthcare Consulting Pool, where you’ll have the opportunity to gain diverse experiences across ECG’s four divisions : Health System Performance, Medical Group Optimization, Payer Strategy & Contracting, and Strategy & Enterprise Growth.

 

Your Responsibilities May Include

• Analyzing, synthesizing, and interpreting data to inform client recommendations
• Using financial modeling to conduct in-depth analyses and recommend executable strategies
• Conducting stakeholder interviews
• Leading information-gathering efforts
• Assisting in developing and managing work plans, schedules, and budgets
• Drafting project analyses and deliverables
• Communicating project progress and seeking input
• Developing depth of technical expertise
• Identifying follow-on opportunities and helping scope and close such engagements
• Assisting in the design and implementation of recommended solutions
• Working closely with multiple project teams and ECG senior consulting leaders
• Taking responsibility for project outcomes
• Communicating effectively with management and executive-level client staff
• Learning about ECG’s breadth of solutions and identifying those that reflect personal and professional interests
• Participating in peer and junior staff knowledge development and career advancement
• Demonstrating the ability to excel at consulting while balancing work and personal life
• Acting as an ECG ambassador within personal, professional, and alumni networks

 

Qualifications

• Graduating with the class of 2028 with a master’s degree in business administration and/or a health-related field
• Two or more years of relevant, professional experience prior to graduate school (e.g., healthcare consulting and/or hospital administration or operations), or a strong business background in strategic operations, finance, or consulting
• Strong knowledge of and passion for the healthcare industry
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Proven track record of solving complex problems and completing challenging projects
• Demonstrated diagnostic, analytical, and quantitative skills
• Track record of strong client service
• Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibilities
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills
• Ability to travel as needed

 

Job Locations

• Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Diego, or Washington, DC.
• Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in office

The estimated base salary range for this job is $46.00 - $63.00 hourly. It represents a good faith estimate of the range that ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes. The job is also eligible to participate in ECG’s benefit plans, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching program, PTO, and other wellness programs.
