Department: Pediatric Emergency Room

Job Status: Hourly

Shift: Night

Compensation: $47.85 - $71.72 per hour

Position Overview

Our organization is in search of a Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Emergency Department at our New Brunswick facility.

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
    • 4 to 5 years of experience in Pediatric Emergency Nursing or Pediatric Critical Care Nursing
    • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
    • Strong computer proficiency
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
    • Experience in Pediatric Nursing is highly desirable
    • National certification and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred
Certifications and Licenses
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Night Shift

Key Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the framework established by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory guidelines, ensuring adherence to ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles while being aware of personal knowledge and experience levels, and takes responsibility for enhancing the knowledge of self and the patient care team through effective communication and resource utilization.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
  • Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served.
  • Oversees and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
  • Consistently prioritizes and evaluates interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
  • Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team leader, employing the nursing process to integrate all care aspects and tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
