Dental Hygienist

We're seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join the Cornell ScottHill Health Center team. In this role, you'll provide high-quality preventive care, support our dentists during clinical procedures, and help patients build lifelong oral health habits. This position is ideal for someone who values community health and enjoys working with diverse patient populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Care Perform oral prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, and sealant applications.
• Diagnostic Support Assist the Dentist with X-rays, surveys, and mouth charting.
• Patient Education Teach patients (and when appropriate, parents/caregivers) proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Recall & Follow-Up Maintain the hygiene recall system to ensure continuity of care.
• Quality & Compliance Participate in hygiene audits and support departmental planning.
• Team Collaboration Assist with scheduling, represent the department on committees, and contribute to workflow improvements.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support clinic operations.

Required Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene
• Connecticut Dental Hygiene License
• CPR Certification
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with disadvantaged and diverse populations
• Comfort communicating warmth, confidence, and empathy
• Interest in preventive dentistry and community-centered care
• Excellent computer skills; experience with GE Centricity/VisDental is highly desirable
• Willingness to provide evening, Saturday, and satellite clinic coverage as needed
• Previous dental experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply
