Pipelayer - Wet UtilityManassas, Virginia, United StatesResponsibilities:Ensure job site safetyEnsure proper excavation & compaction procedures are performedInstall sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systemsCut pipes to required lengthsAssist in aligning pipes during pipeline constructionAlign and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealingCheck slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasersConnect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, fittings, or glueTap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devicesCover pipes with earth or other materialsGrade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand toolsTrain others in pipe-laying techniquesRequirements:Ability access secured facilitiesAbility to operate large excavators with precisionHigh attention to detailPhysical Requirements:Employee must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.Other physical requirements include walking, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
