Facility Maintenance Technician

Facility Maintenance TechnicianWe are seeking a dependable Facility Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation, maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of a manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for routine preventative maintenance, basic repairs, housekeeping, equipment relocation, and general facility support to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. The technician will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure the facility and its infrastructure remain in good working condition.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain cleanliness and organization throughout manufacturing, warehouse, office, and common areas.Operate floor scrubbers, sweepers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety, and housekeeping concerns.Perform basic building maintenance, including painting, light carpentry, plumbing repairs, and minor electrical repairs as permitted.Replace light bulbs, filters, batteries, and other facility components.Assist with preventative maintenance on facility equipment and building systems.Support the upkeep of HVAC systems, compressed air, lighting, and other facility infrastructure.Move machinery, fixtures, materials, finished products, and equipment using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.Set up and relocate workstations, office furniture, storage racks, and production support equipment.Maintain exterior grounds, walkways, parking areas, and facility entrances.Assist with recycling, waste management, and scrap removal.Support workplace safety, environmental compliance, and OSHA-related initiatives.Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests.Complete assigned work orders and maintain basic maintenance records.Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and facility policies.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and material-handling equipment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, construction, manufacturing support, or a related field.Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience.Experience working in a manufacturing facility or machine shop.Familiarity with OSHA requirements and general industrial safety practices.Experience supporting preventative maintenance programs.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBasic understanding of building systems and general maintenance practices.Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, work orders, and safety instructions.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Ability to identify maintenance issues, assess situations, and make sound decisions within established procedures.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and facility needs.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Frequent use of hands and arms to operate tools, equipment, and handle materials.Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and reach as needed.Ability to push, pull, carry, and move equipment and materials.Ability to work in confined spaces or elevated areas when required.Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.Occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance or mechanical lifting equipment.Adequate close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Work EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to:Moving machinery and mechanical equipment.Industrial cleaning chemicals and maintenance materials.Dust, fumes, metal chips, and airborne particles.Elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection in designated areas.Variable temperatures in production and warehouse spaces.Forklift and pedestrian traffic.Electrical, mechanical, and ergonomic hazards associated with maintenance activities.Employees must follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.LocationDaytona Beach, known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant community, offers a great living environment with a mix of exciting cultural, recreational, and leisure activities.
