P/T Grunin Center for the Arts Program Specialist (25hrs/wk, Occasional Weekends/Nights)

The Position

This position is responsible for supporting various programs and operations of the Jay & Linda Grunin Center for the Arts including K-12 school shows, OCC events, rentals, public performances, and Wintrode Art Gallery exhibitions. Schedule will vary based on the programming calendar; weekend and nighttime availability required. Classification: Non-Affiliated Administrator Staff Duration: Part-Time 12 months

What You Will Do

Assists immediate manager with planning and executing large educational programs, including but not limited to: Teen Arts Festival, Poetry Out Loud, and K-12 school performances; as well as educational workshops, lectures, and on-campus and off-campus residencies.

Supports and attends assigned Grunin Center programs/events, including performances, college events, and rentals, which may include weekend and/or night hours.

Supports front of house operations including assisting with artist merchandise.

Serves as a substitute house manager as needed.

Assists with coordination of artist hospitality and catering.

Supports Wintrode Art Gallery exhibitions by assisting staff with installation/de-installation of artwork, visitor services, and public programs.

Sits in the Wintrode Art Gallery during open viewing hours if not staffed; works with immediate manager to schedule and ensure staffing with volunteers and students.

Coordinates a schedule of opportunities for OCC Student Clubs to sell concessions at Grunin Center public shows.

Assists all directors with facilities maintenance requests, room reservations, and other administrative tasks.

Related duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

The Successful Candidate Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Arts, Education or closely related field. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associates' degree or completion of sixty college credits with one additional year of experience may be accepted.

At least two years of customer or client-facing experience, which includes interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Minimum of one year of recent administrative or programmatic experience, preferably in an arts organization, theater, or academic setting.

Requires strong organizational skills and ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and interpersonally.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
