The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong background in acute care and will be able to work collaboratively within a dynamic healthcare environment. Unit Details Unit Name: STICU Number of Beds: 20 Patient Ratios: 1:2 Scrub Color: Navy or white Staffing Information Day Shift: 10 RNs (additional if 1:1 care needed), 1 supervisor, 1 PCT, 1 ICU waiting room HUC Night Shift: 10 RNs (additional if 1:1 care needed), 1 supervisor, 1 PCT, 1 ICU waiting room HUC Equipment Utilized EVDs Camino/bolts Wound vacs Baxter IV pumps GE Carescape bedside monitors GE ventilators iCool machines Blanketrol blankets Bair Hugger Prisma Max CRRT Zoll Kangaroo feeding pumps Alaris PCA pumps Documentation System The unit utilizes the Cerner Power Chart documentation system. Scheduling Requirements Candidates must be available for 6 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule. Floating Policy Travelers will float before core staff and may be required to float to other ICUs or Step Down units. Qualifications Required Experience: Trauma ICU experience (Level I or Level II Trauma Centers) Surgical ICU experience Must Have: Valid Nursing License Active ACLS and BLS Certifications Desired Skills: Looking for individuals who are team players, possess a positive attitude, and demonstrate flexibility. Procedures Performed on Unit Intubation Extubation Chest tube placement Central line placement A-line placement Foley placement Bronchoscopy Endoscopy Proning TPA administration Hypertonic medication administration Tracheostomy placement EVD/bolt placement CRRT/HD Irrigation and debridement Minor surgery Additional Information The unit practices modified self-scheduling to enhance flexibility for staff.
