The Opportunity The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and direction of Food & Beverage at Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort. As the resort’s lead Food & Beverage operator, this position has responsibility for guest satisfaction, service standards, team development, revenue generation, labor management, cost controls, departmental profitability, and compliance. We are seeking a leader who is equally comfortable analyzing financial results, developing and coaching employees, implementing revenue strategies, and being highly visible on the floor during service. This is not primarily an office-based position; successful leadership requires an active presence throughout the operation and direct engagement with guests and team members. What You'll Lead F&B Operations & Guest Experience Provide overall leadership and day-to-day direction for the resort’s Food & Beverage operation, including Butterfly Café, TJ’s Tiki Bar, and banquet, catering, and special event service as applicable. Maintain a highly visible, hands-on presence throughout Food & Beverage operations, particularly during peak meal periods, weekends, holidays, and special events. Establish, communicate, and maintain elevated standards for service, cleanliness, presentation, hospitality, and overall guest experience. Conduct regular rounds of all Food & Beverage areas to ensure operational standards are consistently achieved, and guest needs are being anticipated and addressed. Personally assist with the resolution of significant guest concerns and empower the team to provide thoughtful, timely service recovery. Review guest feedback, online reviews, satisfaction results, and outlet performance to identify trends and implement meaningful improvements. Conduct effective pre-shift meetings to communicate daily business levels, reservations, special occasions, menu features, service expectations, and resort priorities. Ensure restaurant and bar opening, closing, cash-handling, and security procedures are consistently followed. Partner closely with culinary leadership to maintain strong alignment between front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Continuously evaluate service delivery, menus, programming, promotions, and the overall Food & Beverage experience to identify opportunities to elevate the resort experience. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, develop, and hold accountable all Food & Beverage service leaders and associates while creating a positive, professional, and service-driven culture. Recruit, train, schedule, and develop a strong Food & Beverage team capable of consistently delivering resort-level hospitality. Establish clear expectations and accountability for attendance, appearance, productivity, service standards, and professional conduct. Ensure associates are properly trained in service standards, menu and beverage knowledge, suggestive selling, responsible alcohol service, safety, sanitation, and resort policies. Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, performance feedback, and corrective action when appropriate. Identify and develop high-performing employees for increased responsibilities and future leadership opportunities. Ensure all Food & Beverage associates are properly uniformed and consistently meet resort grooming and appearance standards. Partner with People + Culture on recruitment, retention, employee relations, training, engagement, and performance management. Revenue, Profitability & Financial Performance Take ownership of Food & Beverage revenue, expenses, labor productivity, cost controls, and overall departmental financial performance. Participate in the development of annual budgets, forecasts, operating plans, and departmental goals. Monitor outlet revenue, labor, food and beverage costs, cost of sales, inventory, operating expenses, and other key performance indicators. Analyze financial and operational results and develop corrective action plans when performance is not meeting expectations. Identify opportunities to grow revenue through menu strategy, pricing, promotions, programming, special events, upselling, and enhanced guest experiences. Train and motivate service teams to maximize revenue through thoughtful recommendations and suggestive selling while maintaining genuine hospitality. Ensure staffing and scheduling are aligned with forecasted business volumes and productivity expectations. Maintain appropriate controls around purchasing, inventory, cash handling, discounts, voids, complimentary items, and other Food & Beverage transactions. Partner with Finance and culinary leadership on forecasting, purchasing, inventory management, expense control, and profitability initiatives. Banquets, Weddings & Resort Collaboration Provide operational leadership for the resort’s limited banquet, catering, group, and special event business. Coordinate with Sales, culinary leadership, and other departments to ensure events are properly planned, staffed, executed, and communicated. Ensure event setups, service standards, timing, and breakdowns meet resort and client expectations. Work collaboratively with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, Finance, People + Culture, and other resort departments to create a seamless guest experience. Participate actively in resort leadership meetings, planning, budgeting, and operational initiatives. Support resort-wide programming and guest experiences that incorporate Food & Beverage, including seasonal promotions, special events, and signature resort experiences. Compliance & Operational Standards Ensure compliance with all applicable health, sanitation, food safety, responsible alcohol service, workplace safety, and company standards. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional environment throughout all Food & Beverage areas. Ensure appropriate procedures are followed regarding legal drinking age, responsible alcohol service, and discontinuing service when necessary. Maintain strong operational controls and ensure policies, procedures, and established standards are consistently followed. Ensure equipment, furnishings, service areas, and operating supplies are properly maintained and immediately communicate repair or replacement needs. What We're Looking For Minimum of 4–5 years of progressive Food & Beverage experience, including significant leadership responsibility within a resort, upscale hotel, restaurant, or comparable hospitality environment. Previous experience leading multiple Food & Beverage outlets strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead a Food & Beverage department with responsibility for both operational execution and financial results. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, labor, inventory, cost of sales, and departmental profitability. Proven ability to recruit, train, coach, motivate, and hold teams accountable. Strong understanding of elevated hospitality and restaurant service standards. Demonstrated ability to improve guest satisfaction, grow revenue, manage expenses, and strengthen operational performance. Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities and departments. Working knowledge of POS, scheduling, inventory, and standard business software, including Microsoft Office. Experience with banquets, catering, groups, or special events preferred. College degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent hospitality leadership experience will be considered. Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages. This is a hands-on resort leadership position requiring significant time within the Food & Beverage outlets and guest areas rather than primarily working from an office. The Food & Beverage Manager must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and peak operating periods. While the primary responsibility of this position is leadership and management, the Food & Beverage Manager must be willing to step into operational roles when necessary to support the team and maintain the guest experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor resort environments, including exposure to heat, sunlight, humidity, and changing weather conditions. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities associated with restaurant and resort operations.
