Legal Research Services Manager – Houston A national-based law firm located in Houston is seeking a Research Services Manager to join their team. Candidates must have 5+ years of research services experience within a law firm and management experience. A Juris Doctorate, Master of Library/Information Science, or an equivalent degree is required. This position offers a hybrid schedule and full benefits. Key Responsibilities Conduct legal and non‑legal research, serving as a subject matter expert in industry trends, research methodologies, and information resources. Collaborate with the Director to identify opportunities for process improvement and enhance departmental and firm‑wide research resources. Oversee and manage all research requests submitted to the department, ensuring timely and high‑quality service delivery. Develop and implement training programs to increase attorneys’ and staff’s awareness, knowledge, and effective use of Research Services resources. Mentor, train, and support members of the Research Services team to foster professional development and maintain high performance standards. Assist the Director in developing and executing departmental goals and objectives aligned with the firm’s strategic priorities, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and balanced research support. Establish performance goals for Research Services team members that align with departmental and firm objectives. Support the department’s budgeting process, including recommendations for resource investments and expenditures. Collect, analyze, and report usage data related to research services to identify trends and recommend service improvements. Develop, review, and update policies and procedures to ensure best practices in responding to research requests. Evaluate and recommend legal and non‑legal research tools and resources to support the firm’s information needs. Qualifications 5+ years of research services experience within a law firm. Significant management experience. Juris Doctorate, Master of Library/Information Science, or an equivalent degree. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
