Financial Analyst

Position Summary:The Financial Analyst is instrumental in the cost accounting function, preparation of financials for new NPD projects, accounting close, and analysis of actual results compared to budget. The Financial Analyst will report to the Accounting Manager and will work closely with our members of the finance and management teams.Reports to: Accounting ManagerFunctional Responsibilities:New Production DevelopmentPrepare and present first draft of financials for New Product Development (“NPD”) functionPerform post-audit of NPD projectsMonthly Close ProcessPrepare certain monthly close entries related to productionReview capacity (labor) entries and investigate variancesAccrue WIP and LOH for open RPOsReview Purchase Price Variance (“PPV”) account activity and summarize report for Supply Chain review and distribution to E Team and BoardIdentify variances in production account actuals vs. budget and discuss with Operations TeamPerform assigned account reconciliationsStandard Cost AccountingDevelop standard costs for all inventory items.Recommend changes to existing cost routings for identified new or changed processes working with Operations team to identify appropriate staffReview variances related to Released Production Orders (“RPOs”)Plans, studies and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and laborEstablish freight costs to add to material costs for raw materialsReview processes for continuous improvementPerform account reconciliations for specific accounts, primarily related to inventoryOtherProvides broad support to the Finance Team and the Company as requiredPerform other job-related duties as assigned or directedRequired Experience, Desired Skills & Qualifications:4-6 years of related experienceStrong ERP system knowledgeStrong computer skills, particularly ExcelExcellent written and oral communication skillsAccurate and detail-orientedAbility to maintain absolute confidentiality in day-to-day operationsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain flexibility in a changing environmentStrong problem solving and analytical skillsEducational Qualifications:Bachelor degree in accountingCPA or candidate for CPA examinationPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
