Miami Springs Montessori School is seeking a Child Care Teacher Assistant to join our team! This teaching opportunity position is responsible for carrying out quality lesson plans and activities while harnessing a safe and engaging educational environment for children.

Role Description

On-site role based in Miami Springs, FL, responsible for guiding students through Montessori-based learning experiences and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom environment. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering lessons, facilitating individual and small-group activities, and providing ongoing academic and behavioral support to students. The Teacher will observe and document student progress, adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and collaborate with colleagues and school leadership on curriculum and school initiatives. Regular communication with families, participation in staff duties and meetings, and involvement in school events and professional development activities are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Help plan and carry out daily Montessori Lesson plans and activities accordingly.
• Maintain the classroom orderly and organized.
• Supervise children in the classroom and playground.
• Assist in dismissal in the afternoon and in closing up the school twice a week.
• Assist in seasonal school events and activities when required.

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience working with young children as lead or assistant teacher.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills (fluent in English and Spanish).
• Relevant teaching certification or licensure: 45 DCF hours and exams .
• Adult and Pediatric First-Aid and CPR certification.
• Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience applying effective instructional methods.
• Experience in lesson planning and organizing age-appropriate and engaging learning activities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a clear, respectful manner.
• Prior classroom experience, preferably in early childhood 0-5 education settings.
• Ability to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for students with diverse backgrounds and needs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and alignment with Montessori philosophy and practices.
