Pay Rate: $50–$55/hour W2

Position Overview

Our client, a large, publicly traded insurance organization is seeking an experienced HR Financial Operations & Reporting Consultant for a short-term engagement supporting an HR Shared Services organization. This position is ideal for someone with a background in accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, or reporting automation who can quickly step into an operational environment and take ownership of recurring financial deliverables. In addition to managing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, this consultant will help standardize, automate, and document existing reporting processes. The ideal candidate is highly proficient with Excel, comfortable working with large amounts of financial data, and able to partner effectively with FP&A, Accounting, Payroll, and HR stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and complete recurring HR financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.
• Partner closely with FP&A, HR Accounting, and Payroll to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Complete monthly financial reporting related to health and retirement benefit plans.
• Support the annual HR budgeting and planning process in partnership with FP&A.
• Manage and track HR department contracts and invoices.
• Support third-party risk management processes associated with HR vendors.
• Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex reporting issues.
• Improve, standardize, and where possible automate existing financial reporting processes.
• Create and maintain clear process documentation to support repeatable and efficient reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR practices, procedures, controls, and workflows.
• Support HR business continuity activities and process updates.
• Participate in complex HR initiatives and ad hoc projects across multiple HR functions.
• Develop strong relationships with HR partners and provide financial and operational guidance in support of business objectives.
• Manage multiple deliverables and priorities across several business partners and leaders.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of related professional experience in accounting, financial analysis, financial operations, budgeting, reporting, HR operations, or a related area.
• Strong experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, particularly working with formulas, large data sets, and recurring financial reports.
• Experience improving, standardizing, or automating Excel-based reporting processes.
• Ability to create clear process documentation and establish repeatable workflows.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex data or reporting issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple projects and recurring deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to partner effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Accounting, FP&A, financial analysis, or financial reporting
• Experience supporting HR financials or HR Shared Services
• Benefits financial reporting experience, particularly health and retirement plans
• Experience partnering with FP&A, Accounting, and Payroll
• Budgeting and financial projection experience
• Experience with HR systems and financial/reporting technologies
• Demonstrated experience building or automating Excel-based reports
• Experience documenting and improving financial or operational processes
