VIP Room Quality Inspector - Housekeeping

Job Summary Inspect rooms and public areas, corridors to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Essential Job Functions The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shift days, starting times, and hours worked vary. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Visually inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms and corridors for cleanliness and appearance. Prepare work orders for shampooers to clean carpets and supply room attendants to maintain par stock in closet. Ensure all jobs are completed within the shift. Report all maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms and corridors via work orders. Contact maintenance for emergencies such as overflowing toilets, broken pipes, lights out, broken mirrors or windows. Expedite special guest requests, such as extra towels, blankets or pillows. Open and close the Housekeeping Department. Turn in all lost and found items and all guest room keys. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Follow safety and security procedures and rules. Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures. Utilize protective equipment. Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near‑misses, property damage or loss to management. Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules. Maintain a neat, clean and well‑groomed appearance in accordance with the team member handbook. Perform any related duties as requested by management. Assist other housekeeping personnel when needed. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Any combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High school education preferred. Minimum six months of inspector experience or one year of comparable housekeeping experience acceptable. Ability to read and write English to complete forms such as room status reports. Ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates. Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to exercise judgment and implement control over the performance of subordinates. Ability to communicate effectively with various people, providing information and answering questions. High school diploma required; a college degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management preferred. Physical Demands Lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment. Push carts weighing up to 200 pounds. Lift up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods.
