The Family Medicine Department, located in a 120,000 square foot facility, provides a wide variety of comprehensive primary care services for all age groups to include: office based procedural skills, obstetrical care, nutrition services, counseling and psychological support in an integrated care model.Job Duties The Department of Family Medicine, Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, is seeking board certified/board eligible Family Medicine Physicians at the title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor/Professor (title/rank is commensurate with experience) for a fixed-term or tenure-track position. The successful candidates will join a well-established medical practice comprised of leading divisions in residency education, medical student education, sports medicine, geriatrics, and research.These positions support an innovative primary care initiative: the ECU Health Primary Care Learning Center — a new full-spectrum teaching clinic located in a high‑need community designed to address primary care access gaps, reduce low-acuity ED utilization, and expand clinical training opportunities.Clinical Responsibilities:- Provide full-spectrum outpatient primary care for patients of all ages.- Supervise 3rd and 4th year medical students, PA, NP, nursing, and allied health learners.- Participate in daily teaching rounds, case reviews, clinic huddles, and end-of-day feedback.Educational Responsibilities:- Teach, mentor, advise, and evaluate learners across disciplines.- Lead teaching sessions aligned with the recurring curriculum.- Model patient-centered communication and team-based care.Scholarly & Service Expectations:- Participate in scholarship, QI, and educational innovation.- Collaborate with interprofessional and community partners.Additional leadership and teaching opportunities are also available depending on individual applicant interests.Competitive compensation structure with comprehensive benefits including relocation assistance, vacation & sick PTO, CME days & reimbursement, malpractice (with tail), retirement benefits, state health plan health insurance, employer paid dependent health insurance, medical and dental reimbursements, employer paid AD&D, disability, and life insurance.The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center (formerly Vidant Medical Center).
