TRANSITION NURSE

Department 3 Central Schedule - Shift - Hours Full Time - Day Shift - days and hours vary Working at Moffitt is both a career and a mission: to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer. Summary We are currently looking for a Transition Nurse (RN) for our 3 Central (ICE-T/CAR-T) unit. This 12‑bed inpatient unit and an 8‑bay outpatient treatment center provides a dynamic working environment specializing in immune‑cellular therapy patients. The patient’s immune cells are removed from the body, re‑engineered in a lab, and then infused back into the patient to seek out and destroy cancerous cells. Program Overview The Cellular Immunotherapy Program at Moffitt Cancer Center offers several types of cellular immunotherapy, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‑cell therapy, T‑cell receptor (TCR) therapy, tumor‑infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) therapy, dendritic cell vaccine, and other emerging options. It is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). Qualifications BSN – Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required Registered Nurse (RN) – Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, or a valid Multi‑State privilege to practice in Florida (must declare Florida as primary state of residence within 60 days of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi‑state privileges) 2 years of oncology experience (BMTCI preferred) plus experience in discharge planning and patient/family education Basic Life Support (BLS) Master’s Degree (preferred) National Oncology Nursing Certification (e.g., BMTCI, OCN) Transplant and/or cellular immunotherapy experience (strongly recommended) Excellent communication and teaching skills Responsibilities Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of cancer patients and families, integrating patient‑ and family‑centered care and quality caring factors into practice Identifies, documents, and provides patient education based on learning needs Participates in evidence‑based improvement activities related to area of practice Engages in professional development based on nursing professional standards, regulatory requirements, and job expectations Position Highlights Delivers individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with hospital guidelines, nursing practice model, nursing care standards, ANA code of ethics, and external regulatory agencies Embodies Moffitt Nursing’s vision, mission, and philosophy and is accountable for personalized patient and family‑centered care, including Duffy’s quality‑caring model concepts such as collaboration, dignity, human respect, encouraging manner, and compassionate reassurance Uses the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self‑care, educational, and discharge planning needs Moffitt Cancer Center is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
