Account Manager/Customer Service

About the Opportunity:

Our client is a global manufacturing organization with multiple locations in the West Michigan area. This position supports a smaller, collaborative facility and is part of a broader customer operations team responsible for managing key accounts.

• Reports to a global leader within customer operations, with a dotted line to the onsite team lead

• Local team environment of 2–3 team members supporting the site

• Opportunity to work cross-functionally within a dynamic manufacturing environment

Position Overview:

This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts. The individual will manage the full order lifecycle while partnering closely with internal teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong customer communication.

Main Responsibilities:

• Receive and review customer purchase orders; determine if re-quotes are required based on internal criteria

• Enter and manage orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy throughout the process

• Place and monitor raw material orders (primarily replenishment-based) to support production

• Partner closely with production, quality, and shipping to ensure orders are fulfilled on time

• Support accounting by addressing pricing and invoice-related questions

• Maintain and share open order reports with customers

• Provide proactive communication and follow-up on order status, delays, or issues

• Build strong customer relationships through ongoing communication via email, phone, and virtual meetings

Qualifications:

• Experience in customer service, account management, or inside sales (manufacturing preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

• ERP experience required (experience with QAD is a plus)

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Hybrid schedule:

  • Training: 3 days onsite / 2 remote
  • Post-training: 2 days onsite / 3 remote
