This is a 13-week contract position.

Day/evening shift from 06:30 AM to 03:00 PM or 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM; variable. Takes call as needed, usually once a week and every 6th weekend.

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the GI department is a professional caregiver responsible for providing high-quality care to a designated group of patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with other healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing assessment and data collection focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status of patients.
• Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses.
• Formulate and prioritize goal-directed plans of care based on nursing diagnoses and expected patient outcomes.
• Implement care knowledgeably and consistently.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care and outcomes regularly.
• Participate in emergency response situations, following established protocols.
• Maintain a strong, ethical approach in all aspects of patient care.
• Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with healthcare team members.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the relevant state.
• Endoscopy training or experience preferred.
• Current certifications, including BLS and ACLS, as per facility requirements.
