Assistant County Attorney

The Jackson County Attorney’s Office is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant County Attorney position with benefits included.

We are looking for an attorney with 0–5 years of experience in criminal prosecution and jury trials, or experience handling Child in Need of Care (CINC) and juvenile matters. Duties in this role may include prosecuting criminal (misdemeanor and/or felony), traffic, Child in Need of Care, and juvenile cases.

The ideal candidate will be organized, work well with others, and have a strong desire to appear in court. Applicants should demonstrate professionalism, dependability, strong time-management skills, and a solid work ethic.

Starting salary begins at $85,000, with the opportunity for higher compensation based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university
• Admission to the Kansas Bar

3L students planning to take the July Bar Exam are encouraged to apply.
