Senior Manager Software Engineering – Schaumburg, IL – 2373645 Employer: Optum Services Inc. Location: 1600 McConnor Pkwy, Schaumburg, IL 60173 (partial telecommuting available) Duties Lead multiple global software engineering teams; interact with stakeholders to understand requirements and expectations; ensure delivery of commitments on time and within budget; oversee migration from monolithic systems to a microservices-based architecture; foster a culture of reliability and quality; review and provide feedback on architectural designs; document high-level architecture and design as needed; maintain a broad understanding of business impact; modernize legacy applications using latest technology stack and oversee migration to cloud; conduct thorough code reviews; build roadmap for new initiatives and release calendar; provide strong leadership and guidance to software engineers; provide technical support and resolve complex technical issues; enforce quality standards and best practices; identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Engineering or related field and at least 3 years of experience in technology (or related occupation). Required technical experience (minimum 3 years): Software and Cloud Engineering; Software development methodologies; Java, Web services (SOAP & Restful), J2EE, XML, Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot microservices, Azure Function Apps and Azure Logic Apps; Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, OpenShift); Cloud-based architecture and services; DevOps principles and practices (CI/CD); Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes; Software testing methodologies (Waterfall, V-Model, Agile); testing tools (AccelQ, Selenium, SoapUI, Rational Functional Tester, LoadRunner).
