Job Details Specialty: OR – Operating Room Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 40 per week (8‑hour days) Employment: Travel Summary The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring safety and comfort during surgical procedures. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), or ENPC certifications OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) Additional certifications and licenses may be required Essential Work Functions Prepare the operating room and ensure all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready. Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments and supplies promptly. Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery and document significant changes. Handle surgical instruments and supplies, including sterilization and disposal per facility protocols. Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport accurately. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly. Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑and post‑operative phases. Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies. Follow hospital safety rules and use PPE and infection prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and PC skills. Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personnel. Technical skills for fine manipulation during procedures. Mental resilience to manage frequent contact with the general public and deadlines. Visual acuity and effective communication ability.
