Software Engineering Manager

Salary: $93,000 - 133,000 per year Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in an engineering leadership role, such as Software Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or Tech Lead.
• Proven ability to develop engineers and build healthy, high-performing teams.
• Experience leading Agile software delivery and partnering with Product on roadmaps and planning.
• Strong technical depth in modern web, cloud, and event-based microservices environments.
• Ability to participate in architecture, system design, and code review discussions.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Sound judgment about where AI-assisted development can improve productivity and where it may not be appropriate.
• Strong communication skills with engineers, Product partners, and business leadership.
• Preferred: Experience improving a teams use of AI coding agents or establishing effective agentic development practices.
• Preferred: Experience building AI agents for software engineering or development workflows.
• Preferred: Healthcare technology experience, especially in specialty pharmacy, PBM, payer, or claims systems.
• Preferred: Familiarity with HIPAA, HITRUST, or SOC 2 in a software environment.
• Preferred: Experience with Python, React, SQL Server, or Microsoft Azure.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, supporting the Leads who manage day-to-day delivery.
• Hold regular one-on-ones, set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and support career growth.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard engineers who strengthen the teams technical capabilities and culture.
• Work with Product on roadmaps, priorities, scope, and delivery planning.
• Help the team balance new development, reliability, technical quality, and sustainable delivery.
• Provide technical leadership in architecture discussions, system design, and code reviews.
• Champion AI-assisted development and agentic coding across the team.
• Help engineers improve the shared AI agents, skills, and tools used in their daily workflows.
• Identify delivery risks early, break down complex work, and support projects that fall behind.
• Foster engineering excellence, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in production triage and on-call activities while maintaining appropriate team coverage.
• Stay hands-on with selected projects, tooling, and engineering improvements outside critical delivery work.
