Senior Manager of Finance and Accounting

Senior Manager of Finance & Accounting Meristem Packaging Company Atlanta Metropolitan Area (Hybrid) Meristem Packaging Company is a growing, mission-driven organization in the sustainable packaging space. We are seeking a hands‑on finance and accounting leader to oversee the company’s day‑to‑day accounting operations and support business growth in a lean, fast‑paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the work, operating with high ownership, and partnering directly with leadership while remaining hands‑on in the accounting function. What You’ll Do Own and execute all core accounting operations, including: General Ledger Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Payroll Month‑end close Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Manage cash flow visibility, forecasting, and working capital monitoring Support banking relationships, including line of credit activity and lender reporting Partner cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service Ensure compliance with: Sales tax 1099 reporting Insurance administration Company registrations and filings Support ongoing process improvement and future systems enhancements, including eventual transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and operational efficiency What We’re Looking For Strong hands‑on accounting experience with direct ownership of close and day‑to‑day accounting operations Solid foundation in:

US GAAP

Financial reporting Cash flow management Reconciliations Experience working in small or mid‑size businesses with lean teams and limited resources Comfortable operating as an individual contributor while partnering closely with leadership Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or product‑based environments strongly preferred QuickBooks experience required; NetSuite experience is a plus Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Work Environment Hybrid schedule based in the Atlanta metropolitan area Expected onsite presence approximately 3 days per week Candidates must currently reside in or near the Atlanta area Occasional collaboration with Better Earth leadership and operations teams Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive total rewards package, including: Base salary range: $100,000 – $115,000 Bonus eligibility Medical, dental, and vision benefits Paid time off and company holidays Final compensation will be based on experience, technical capability, and overall fit for the role.
