Job Title: Operations Assistant (Storage & Logistics)

Position Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

Pay Rate: $15.00/hour starting (during training)

Location: Pahrump, NV

Schedule: 40 hours per week with flexible days off. The facility is open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Full-Time Operations Assistant in Pahrump, NV. This client operates a high-volume, multi-service facility specializing in self-storage management, U-Haul fleet logistics, and FedEx shipping services.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role that perfectly balances computer-based office administration with active, outdoor yard management. We are looking for an organized individual who can follow strict safety protocols, learn specialized software systems, and provide excellent customer service. This position starts as a temporary contract through our agency, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent, long-term role based on your performance.

Daily Responsibilities

U-Haul Rentals & Logistics

• Handle customer reservations, check-ins, rentals, and returns.
• Safely drive, park, and line up moving trucks and trailers on the property.
• Help customers hook up trailers, attach safety chains, and run quick safety tests.
• Inspect returned trucks, check them back into the system, and sweep/clean out the cabs and cargo areas.
• Complete the self-paced U-Haul University training app (takes about 1–2 days). Candidates who are already U-Haul certified are a big plus.

Storage Facility Upkeep

• Walk the property to keep the grounds secure, clean, and orderly.
• Show available storage units to prospective tenants.
• Ready empty units for new renters by blowing out dirt, clearing debris, and changing out locks.

FedEx Shipping & Mailboxes

• Accept, scan, and process packages using FedEx systems.
• Check customer IDs, take payments, and print shipping labels.
• Move and load heavy packages up to 150 lbs using dollies and carts.

Office & Admin Tasks

• Run the office using three primary programs: Web Self Storage (WSS), PostalMate (for shipping), and iPostal (for mailboxes).
• Keep the front desk clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Follow the company's daily checklist, safety rules, dress code, and professional hygiene standards.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License: You must have a driver’s license to move trucks and trailers around the property.
• Physical Ability: Comfortable lifting heavy packages and staying active on your feet.
• Weather Tolerance: Ability to work outdoors in the Pahrump heat to clean units, check trucks, move packages, and walk the yard.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new databases, software, and shipping programs quickly.
• Customer Service: Friendly and professional phone etiquette and experience working face-to-face with the customers.
• Reliability & Process-Driven: Strong organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail, a commitment to punctuality, and the ability to strictly follow step-by-step operational and safety procedures. 
• Education & Screening: High School Diploma or GED required. Must pass a standard background check and drug screen before starting.
