JOB SUMMARY
Temporary Premium Tax Assistant will support the Premium Tax Team during peak tax filing season. This role will assist with municipal premium tax filings, prepare state premium tax returns, gather and organize documentation, enter information into tax software, and ensure accuracy and timely completion of all assigned deliverables. This role will partner with the Premium Tax Team members to ensure the success of tax compliance goals and may have exposure to other Corporate Tax leaders.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with organizing, preparing, and filing municipal premium tax returns Prepare state premium tax returns for insurance companies Maintain organized documentation Perform data entry and validation in tax preparation software (PremiumPro) and spreadsheets Assist with electronic filing and payment processing Track filing deadlines and submission confirmationsSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Strong attention to details and organizational skills Prior experience in a tax compliance role including a general understanding of process workflow Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint and Teams Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines Good communication skills, written and oral Knowledge of core functions of insurance company corporate tax and corporate accounting is preferredOTHER REQUIREMENTS
Duration: January 5, 2026 through March 31, 2026 Estimated hours: 40 hours per week with potential for overtime during peak filing weeks Location: Chicago office. Hybrid.
