Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:
The Surgery RN provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout perioperative care. The role involves collaborating with surgical teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ psychological and socio-cultural needs before surgery.
• Educate patients and their support persons about surgical procedures, preparation, and post-operative care.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses during surgery and recovery.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols in the operating room.
• Document patient care and surgical procedures accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to coordinate perioperative care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and state licensure.
• Gain experience in surgical or perioperative nursing preferred.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instruments.
• Possess excellent assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
• Maintain current CPR and BLS certifications.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
