Direct message the job poster from Sibitalent Corp Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Location: New York, NY 10038 (Onsite) – Must be local with a valid Driver’s License Duration: 6+ Months LinkedIn Profile Requirement: Created before 2020 Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain the Oracle Database environments for the NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS). The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery. This role requires strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to meet business and technical requirements. Key Responsibilities: Plan, design, install, configure, secure, and maintain Oracle RAC 19c database environments on Exadata systems and Oracle Data Guard for Disaster Recovery. Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance and resource utilization across all Oracle environments. Administer Oracle Exadata clusters, including database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure upgrades. Implement quarterly patches and security updates on production and development Oracle RAC servers in coordination with Oracle Professional Services. Maintain and patch Oracle Data Guard environments for disaster recovery in compliance with established schedules. Enable and support Oracle database encryption using Oracle Key Vault. Collaborate with Unix and network security teams to monitor OS-level security. Adhere strictly to Change Management policies and procedures for all environment modifications. Maintain disaster recovery configurations and documentation; conduct periodic disaster recovery testing. Perform regular database backups and test recovery using Veeam solutions. Administer and troubleshoot Oracle ASM clustered environments. Provide technical support and guidance to systems development and business users. Set up and monitor scheduled Oracle batch jobs and system alerts for 24x7 availability and support. Coordinate with Oracle and other vendors to troubleshoot and escalate critical technical issues. Follow communication protocols for outages and incident reporting. Respond to service desk tickets and ensure timely resolution. Maintain accurate inventory of database environments and software assets. Be available for after-hours and weekend support as needed. Qualifications: Minimum 8-10 years of experience as a Senior Oracle DBA managing large-scale Oracle environments with Oracle Data Guard on Oracle Linux. Strong experience with Oracle RAC 19c, Exadata, and Oracle Data Guard. Proficient in Shell scripting, Perl, and Python. Knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting network services and protocols on Linux (TCP/IP, SSL, SFTP, SSH, Sendmail, etc.). Experience with database migration to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud) is highly desirable. Experience supporting Oracle WebLogic and Oracle RDBMS on Oracle Linux. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Strong team player with a service-oriented mindset and customer focus.
