- Provide values-driven leadership to build and contribute to high-performing teams that provide excellence in customer service through innovative, creative and collaborative practices to all units and campuses within the College, as well as the external community.
- Implement the strategic plan, develop a collaborative student-focused and community-focused culture, assure fiscal viability of the department, uphold policy and procedures, proactively lead talent performance and talent development, and build community relations as a collaborative partner on the Leadership Council and within a shared governance structure.
- Champion the values of excellence, purpose, integrity, compassion, unity and inclusion as a leader of the College. Support student and employee success by demonstrating a commitment to equity, inclusion, and respectful interactions with persons of diverse ethnic, cultural, socio-economic or educational backgrounds.
- Lead institutional strategic planning efforts and develop systems, processes, tools, and resources that support institutional advancement, project execution, planning, assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Provide structures and support resources for college leaders and project teams, including project sponsorship, management tools, professional development opportunities, and collaborative planning resources.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate action plans related to student success, grant development, institutional effectiveness, and a culture of inquiry and evidence.
- Oversee and align projects related to Student Success Strategy, Institutional Effectiveness, assessment, accreditation, and Grants Development and Support to monitor progress and ensure coordinated execution.
- Partner with senior leadership to integrate inquiry, evidence-informed decision-making, assessment, and student success strategies throughout the institution.
- Connect institutional effectiveness, assessment, and student success initiatives to external funding opportunities in partnership with Grants Development and Support and the CLC Foundation.
- Lead the college's student success team and sponsor project teams to determine, communicate, and oversee strategies for institutional effectiveness, student success, and grant development in alignment with the college's Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with unit leaders to advance institutional priorities and ensure alignment with the college's vision for student success and continuous improvement.
- Guide efforts to build the college's student success framework, foster a culture of inquiry and evidence, and strengthen organizational capacity through evidence-informed practices and Achieving the Dream institutional capacity areas.
- Direct communication related to institutional effectiveness, student success, and grant development with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide coaching and consultation to college leaders, faculty, strategic partners, and community stakeholders engaged in advancing institutional priorities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations to support institutional effectiveness, grants development, and student success initiatives.
- Leverage evidence, institutional planning processes, and organizational frameworks to support decision-making, identify funding opportunities, and align grant strategies with college priorities.
- Lead development of grant strategies, planning processes, and funding schedules that support institutional priorities and long-term sustainability.
- Coach, mentor and develop employees across all departments, divisions and units of the College in collaboration with leaders throughout the College.
- Directly hire, lead, manage, support and empower [3] employees on the [ Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, & Research, Student Success Strategy, and Grants Development and Support] teams to job success at the College.
- Encourage and support personal and professional development and learning, well-being and work-life integration.
- Oversee the operations and strategic alignment of the Institutional Effectiveness, Planning & Research; Student Success Strategy; and Grants Development and Support offices to advance institutional priorities and student success outcomes.
- Partner with assessment and research staff to guide institutional assessment, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Sponsor and guide college-wide events, professional learning opportunities, and engagement activities related to institutional effectiveness, grants development, inquiry and evidence, and student success.
- Provide direction for staff responsible for project management, project execution, and administrative support functions.
- Foster positive employee relations through regular communication, feedback, recognition, coaching, and performance management practices consistent with College policies and values.
- Participate on strategic and/or functional cross-departmental teams, committees and councils at the request of the division or unit leaders.
- Participate in professional associations/organizations and educational activities that enhance subject matter expertise and leadership competencies, knowledge, understanding and interpersonal skills.
- Remain knowledgeable of current state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of appointment ensuring the College's policies, procedures, practices and programs conform to laws and regulations and align with the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of the College.
- Collaborate across governance groups and institutional units to ensure inquiry, evidence, and student success are integrated throughout student, faculty, and employee success frameworks.
- Perform any and all other duties assigned that support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of College of Lake County and goals of the department, division and unit of appointment.
- Student success frameworks, student success initiatives, student-centered design, strategic planning, organizational change, evidence-informed decision-making, project management, assessment and evaluation of student success initiatives.
- Leading institutional strategic planning, student success initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts as well as the ability influence at all levels of the college.
- Ability in decision-making, institutional effectiveness, organizational change, performance management, and problem-solving.
- Acumen and ability to effectively guide and shape organizational change within institutional shared governance systems.
- Successful application of evidence-based best practices in student success and institutional effectiveness at organizational, divisional, departmental, and/or individual levels.
- Effectively partnering with executive leadership to determine and guide organizational strategies.
- Creating and sustaining organization-wide systems for using inquiry and evidence to inform practice.
- Leading institutional research, evaluation, or assessment work and building cross functional alignment throughout the college.
- Writing, implementing, and/or reporting on grant funding.
- Recent collaborative leadership experience
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills and acumen.
- Effective and exceptionally skilled communicator, specifically as it relates to verbal, written communication, and active listening.
- Strong personal integrity, ability to form effective partnerships, ability to collaborate with others and work in a team environment consistent with the College of Lake County values.
- Success using inquiry and evidence to inform decision-making, short- and long-term planning.
- Proven commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion proactively demonstrated through the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, identities and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Doctoral degree in relevant subject area (e.g. higher education administration, public administration, academic affairs, student development, social sciences) from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience in a community college setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of trends and issues in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience managing a budget.
- Experience conducting needs assessments to identify and select appropriate technology, resources, and professional development to support employees to advance the college toward its goals.
- Bi-lingual Spanish (unless it is a required qualification)
